Thầy ơi, cho con hỏi!
Cánh hoa tươi hồng, sao có màu héo úa!
Cánh hoa úa rồi, sao vẫn dáng tươi xanh?
Thầy ơi, cho con hỏi!
Giọt nắng đang soi, sao lung linh in hình giọt nước?
Mưa nhỏ xuống rồi, sao óng ánh màu nắng chói chang?
Thầy ơi, cho con hỏi!
Cũng một tâm con, sao vui – buồn, sướng – khổ lại đan xen?
Cũng một dòng chảy thời gian, sao có đủ chuyện luân hồi sanh – tử?
…
Con hỏi rồi, trong phút giây mệt lử,
Lặng yên ngồi và thôi hỏi han!
Cánh hoa khoe sắc hay úa tàn,
Ừ thì khoe sắc, úa tàn!
Giọt nắng chói chang hay thành mưa nặng hạt,
Ừ thì chói chang và nặng hạt,
Tâm buồn, tâm vui, tâm hăng say, chán nản
Ừ thì buồn, vui, hăng say và chán nản!...
Cứ đến, cứ đi, lặng lẽ đến đi,
Con ngồi yên quan sát,
Có ở đây và Không cũng chốn này,
Sinh đầu dây, Tử cũng đầu dây,
Đâu đó quanh đây,
Con thấy mình ngập tràn trong vũ trụ,
Không có con, mà cũng chính là con
Vạn sự theo duyên, còn không lời hỏi gửi Thầy!
