Vu Lan là ngày lễ hằng năm để tưởng nhớ công ơn cha mẹ và ông bà tổ tiên nói chung. Đây là dịp để các thế hệ con cháu thể hiện tấm lòng thành kính, biết ơn công sinh thành dưỡng dục của cha mẹ, ông bà, tổ tiên, những người đã cho ta một cuộc sống như ngày hôm nay, đồng thời giúp chúng ta tiếp cận được những ý nghĩa giáo dục đầy nhân văn của văn hóa Phật Giáo đó là Từ Bi Hỷ Xả, Vô Ngã Vị Tha, Uống Nước Nhớ Nguồn.

Lễ Vu lan tại Phật đường Giác Tuệ diễn ra với các nghi thức tâm linh như: Dâng hoa – dâng lục cúng; ý nghĩa lễ vu lan bồn; nghi lễ cài hoa hồng, cúng dường chư tôn đức; khánh tuế chúc thọ dâng trà cha mẹ; niêm hương bạch phật - Tụng sám vu lan. Buổi lễ đã kết thúc viên mãn vào lúc 17 giờ trong sự xúc động và hoan hỷ của tất cả những người tham dự.

Trong chương trình văn nghệ mừng đại lễ Vu Lan sai đó có sự góp mặt của các ca sĩ, nghệ sĩ hải ngoại như Hồng Ly, Trang Yến, Kim Huyền, Hồng Vy và các tiết mục được trình bày và biểu diễn bởi các em Phật tử đang sinh hoạt tại Phật đường Giác Tuệ. Chương trình văn nghệ diễn ra cảm động, sâu lắng, mỗi lời ca tiếng hát là lời nói từ trong sâu thẳm của mỗi người con gửi đến cha mẹ mình nhân mùa Vu lan báo hiếu năm nay.

Thích Pháp An; tham dự buổi lễ, còn có nhiều vị khách mời, chính quyền người Đức: Ông Werner Wendel, Vụ trưởng Bộ Bình đẳng và Hòa nhập, Bà Kristina Winkler, đặc trách về ngoại kiều và hòa nhập của tp Dresden, Bà Tatjana Jurk Chủ tịch Liên Hiệp các hiệp hội người nước ngoài bang Sachsen, Bà Elisabeth Neandorf – Trung tâm thông tin về tôn giáo-Liên lạc viên về giao lưu đa tôn giáo, Ông Sebastian Römích, Chủ tịch hiệp hội Liên minh đa tôn giáo Dresden, Ông Eric Hattke Chủ tich hiệp hội Atticus Dresden cùng nhiều khách quí đến từ các tôn giáo khác tại Dresden, đông đảo quý vị Phật tử đến từ Tp.
