Thích Chí Giác Thông, Phó ban k. Chánh Thư ký Ban Văn hoá GHTP, NS. Thích Nữ Huệ Khánh, Phó trưởng ban k. Chánh thư ký Ban trị sự Phật giáo Quận 12; ĐĐ. Thích Quảng Thức, Trưởng ban Quản Chúng Tu viện Khánh An cùng chư tăng,ni, cư sĩ Ban Văn hoá Ban GHTP, Trị sự GHPG Quận 12 và đại diện Phật tử Tu viện Khánh An tham dự.

Mở đầu phiên họp, TT. Thích Trí Chơn đã nêu những thảm hoạ do bão lũ gây ra trên diện rộng đối với đồng bào miền Trung với 5 cơn bão liên tục trong suốt hơn 1 tháng qua.

Thực hiện tinh thần từ bi của người con Phật cũng như hưởng ứng lời kêu gọi của Giáo hội Trung ương, Giáo hội Thành phố, Ban Văn hoá Giáo hội PG TP.HCM, Ban Trị sự Giáo hội PG Q. 12 cùng chư tăng, ni Trụ trì các cơ sở chùa, viện địa bàn quận 12 cũng đã có lời mời gọi góp phần công đức. Số tịnh tài chư tôn đức, quí Phật tử, quí nhà hảo tâm trong và ngoài nước đã ủng hộ cho đến thời điểm này là khoảng 4 tỷ đồng.

Qua nhiều ý kiến đóng góp nhiệt tâm, tích cực và thiết thực, cuộc họp đã đi đến thống nhất:

Hai Ban phối hợp tổ chức lễ cầu nguyện “Hướng Về Đồng Bào Miền Trung” tại Tu viện Khánh An vào lúc 18 giờ ngày 18/09 canh tý nhân lễ vía Bồ tát Quán Thế Âm (19/09/ canh tý) cầu đồng bào miền Trung sớm vượt qua khổ nạn.
Xây dựng kế hoạch tổ chức chuyến tặng quà đồng bào miền Trung. Dự kiến chương trình từ thiện sẽ thực hiện vào trung tuần tháng 11/2020. Phật tử Nguyên Giới - Phan Thu Hương có trách nhiệm đi tiền trạm 3 tỉnh Thừa Thiên Huế, Quảng Trị và Quảng Bình; cần liên lạc Hội Chữ thập đỏ tỉnh và chính quyền địa phương để tổ chức thực hiện có kết quả chuyến tặng quà, cần lưu tâm đến vùng sâu, vùng xa, vùng biên giới. ĐĐ. Thích Chí Giác Thông có trách nhiệm liên hệ quí Ban Trị sự 3 tỉnh để nắm bắt tình hình một số chùa bị thiệt hại để đoàn góp phần cúng dường.
