Con ở Sài Gòn nên không có nhiều cơ hội để lân mẫn, hội kiến Đại
lão Hòa thượng, nếu được gặp đó là những sự kiện lớn của Giáo hội.
Cuối năm 2020, trong Hội nghị tổng kết Ban văn hóa trung ương
được tổ chức tại chùa Pháp Hoa - quận 3. Con đến sớm, hòa thượng ngồi trong
phòng khách, con bước vào vái chào. Thấy con, hòa thượng nói “Ngồi xuống đây
uống trà”. Con dè dặt trước bậc Phó Pháp chủ của giáo hội. Hiểu được sự ngại
ngùng của con, ngài cầm tay ghì xuống rồi cũng với câu nói “Ngồi xuống đây uống
trà”.
Một chút vậy thôi cũng đủ để con cảm nhận tấm lòng của bậc kỳ
túc trưởng lão nhưng nếp sống bình dị, giản đơn và thân thiện, dành nhiều tình
thương cho lớp trẻ.
Chỉ mới hơn một tháng trước, còn được gặp đại lão Hòa thượng
nhân tuần thứ sáu Đức đệ tam Pháp chủ tại chùa Vĩnh Nghiêm vậy mà sáng nay nhận
được tin ngài đã về Phật.
Kính nguyện đại lão Hòa thượng Thích Thanh Đàm thong dong cõi tịnh,
sớm trở lại đời giáo hóa độ sinh.
