Khai mạc đêm hội, Thầy Tri sự Thích Trung Giác đã đọc Thư Trung thu của Thầy Viện chủ gửi các cháu thanh, thiếu niên. Trong thư có đoạn "Do Phật sự nước ngoài nên Trung Thu này Thầy không có mặt ở Tu viện để vui trăng cùng các con. Tuy vậy, quí thầy, quí chú tại Tu viện Khánh An sẽ cùng các con đón Trung Thu Ất Mùi. Thầy tin tưởng các con sẽ có một đêm trăng đầy ấp tiếng cười và tràn đầy niềm vui sướng".

Sau thư Trung thu của Thầy Viện chủ là "Cảm niệm Trung thu" do bé Hoàng Yến đọc. Lễ hội ấm lên với phần rước trăng do quí thầy, quí sư chú thực hiện.

Chương trình hoạt náo Trung thu diễn ra trong bầu không khí thật ấm áp, sôi động, đầy ấp tiếng cười, niềm vui. Nhiều tiết mục đặc sắc ca ngợi ông Trăng, ca ngợi tuổi thơ; những vở kịch hài hước càng cuống hút mọi người vào với đêm Trăng thơ mộng.

Đặc biệt trong lần đón Tết Trung Thu năm nay, có sự hiện diện của "Chú Cuội Tây" Kyo York Đại sứ quỹ từ thiện Dấu Ấn Yêu Thương đến Tu viện để cùng vui Trung Thu với các cháu thiếu nhi.

Kịch bản Trung thu do Ban Giám đốc CTy du lịch Hành Hương Việt, Phòng Tranh Tri Âm và nhóm Phật tử Liên Hoa tại Tu viện thực hiện.

Phần cuối chương trình, Ban Tổ chức đã có 200 phần học bổng tặng các cháu học sinh giỏi nhằm khích lệ tinh thần học tập của các cháu.

Trung thu được khép lại với phần rước đèn. Các cháu thanh thiếu niên lần lượt ra tiến ra phía trước cổng chùa. Khúc hát "Rước đèn" bắt đầu vang lên: "Tết Trung Thu rước đèn đi chơi, Em rước đèn đi khắp phố phường, Lòng vui sướng với đèn trong tay, Em múa ca trong ánh trăng rằm . . .

Pháp đường Chánh Niệm đã chật kín hơn 600 em thanh, thiếu niên, một số các em đã phải ở bên ngoài, còn các bác, các cô chú lớn tuổi có đến hàng trăm người thì đành ở bên ngoài để chia vui với ngày tết của tuổi trẻ.
