Quang lâm lễ tưởng niệm có Thượng tọa Thích Trí Thường, Phó ban Trị sự GHPGVN Q.12, Trụ trì chùa Vạn Hạnh cùng Tăng thân Tu viện Khánh An và chư Phật tử bổn viện. Trong khi đó, Thầy Viện chủ đang có mặt tại Huế để tham gia Ban Tổ chức, phục vụ tang lễ Cố Hoà thượng.
Trong không gian trầm mặc sâu lắng, khói trầm quyện tỏa, Thượng tọa Thích Trí Thường cùng toàn thể đại chúng đã thành kính dâng hương, thọ tâm tang và tiến hành nghi thức chúc tán giác linh Hòa thượng, để tưởng nhớ một bậc Tòng lâm thạch trụ vừa thâu thần thị tịch, một bậc mô phạm khuôn thước cho đàn hậu tiến noi theo.
Trước Tôn dung của Hòa thượng, Thượng tọa Thích Trí Thường đã xúc động nhắc lại những kỷ niệm, những ngày được thân cận tu học vớicố Hòa Thượng, Thượng tọa nói: Hoà thượng là vị lãnh đạo cấp cao của Giáo hội, là vị Giáo thọ sư khuôn thước của thế hệ tăng , ni trẻ qua nhiều thời lỳ. Thượng tọa Trí Chơn và chúng tôi là những người được thọ học với Ngài. May mắn hơn, được thân cận, gần gũi Hòa Thượng trong nhiều chuyến hoằng pháp ở châu Âu. Đây là phúc duyên vô cùng lớn.Ngài là vị Thầy có trí tuệ uyên thâm, tinh thông kinh điển. Nơi Hòa thượng luôn toát lên sự giản dị, từ hòa và đạo phong của bậc long tượng trong rừng thiền. Giờ đây, Hòa thượng đã viên tịch, đó là một mất mát vô cũng to lớn cho Giáo hội Phật giáo Việt Nam và tăng ni, Phật tử Việt Nam trong và ngoài nước”.
Thầy Trung Lý đã cung tuyên hành trạng của Hòa thượng tân viên tịch. Bên cạnh đó, tiểu sử cũng đã điểm qua quá trình học tập và hành đạo của HòaThượng,… thể hiện trác tích của bậc chân tu, cống hiến cả cuộc đời phụng sự cho tha nhân và đạo pháp.
Trong buổi lễ tưởng niệm cố Trưởng lão Hòa thượng Thích Chơn Thiện, Tu viện cũng đã nhận được những lẵng hoa từ Ban Trị sựGHPGVN Q.12; Trung tâm Văn hóa Phật giáo Việt Nam tại Ba Lan; Trung tâm Văn hóa Phật giáo Việt Nam tại SachSen, Trung tâm Văn hóa Phật giáo Việt Nam tại Thuringen, Đức Quốc; Chùa Vạn Hạnh Q.12, chùa Nhân Hòa Ba Lan, chùa Giác Đạo, chùa Giác Minh, chùa Giác Nguyện CH Séc.
Được biết lễ truy điệu sẽ được cử hành vào lúc 07g ngày 17 tháng 11 năm 2016 nhằm ngày 18 tháng 10 năm Bính Thân, sau đó phụng tống kim quan Hòa thượng nhập Bảo tháp trong khuôn viên tổ đình Tường Vân.
