Tại mảnh đất một thời khói lửa này, có ba điểm trao quà đã được hoạch định trước. Địa điểm đầu tiên thuộc xã Cam Hiếu, huyện Cam Lộ. Tại đây, Đoàn được Hội chữ Thập xã yểm trợ về khâu tổ chức, trao tặng 250 phần quà đến với bà con trong tiết trời se lạnh cùng cơn mưa phùn nhỏ hạt.

Chia tay bà con xã Cam Hiếu, Đoàn đến thăm hỏi gia đình chị Nguyễn Thị Như Quỳnh 33 tuổi, có chồng bị tử nạn khi đi cứu người trong mưa lũ. Anh Nguyễn Hữu Thành 39 tuổi – chồng của cô qua đời để lại hai đứa con nhỏ, trong khi đứa tiếp theo sắp sửa chào đời. Mất đi trụ cột trong gia đình lại bụng mang dạ chữa, mẹ góa con côi, gia đình chị đang lâm vào cảnh khó khăn, bế tắc. Đồng cảm sâu sắc trước hoàn cảnh đó, Thầy Viện chủ đã thay Đoàn gửi lời thăm hỏi, động viên đến gia đình và gửi tặng một phần quà (trị giá bằng 10 lần quà phát cho bà con nghèo), giúp một phần nhỏ cho gia đình trong cơn bi nạn.

Tạm biệt gia đình cô Quỳnh, Đoàn di chuyển đến thôn Trấm, xã Triệu Thượng, huyện Triệu Phong sau gần hai giờ ngồi xe. Đến Thôn Trấm, Đoàn phải di chuyển bằng xuồng mới tiếp cận được điểm đến. Cuộc sống nơi đây cực kì khó khăn, sống bằng nghề nông nhưng lương thực phải đi mua vì không thể tự cung tự cấp. Đến với bà con, ngoài lời động viên, chia sẻ, chúng tôi đã tận tay trao 300 phần quà nhằm giúp cho bà con vượt qua giai đoạn khó khăn phía trước.

Rời thôn Trấm với nhiều nỗi suy tư, trăn trở; Đoàn về nghĩ trưa và dùng cơm tại chùa Đạo Quang, thôn Đạo Đầu, xã Triệu Trung. Tại đây, Đoàn đã tiếp trao tặng 150 phần quà cho bà con địa phương, kết thúc ngày phát quà thứ ba với 700 phần được trao tặng.
